Oomoo Coffee Shop
Sitting half way down, the increasingly more interesting, Smithdown road, Oomoo is an independent coffee shop with it’s own home made charm. Including it’s previous incarnation as the White room, Oomoo has been doing business for a number of years, changing names when the current owner took over.
Inside, the walls are painted a collection of vivid colours, and hung with a changing selection of art work. The furniture is a mixture of chunky wooden tables and chairs and soft comfy couches. At this point, I would like to warn you about one of the couches in the rear of the shop, it’s almost impossible to get out of. This warn leather siren, caused me on one visit, to order three different large cakes and drink several liters of tea, just to pass the time until I could be extracted.
Oomoo serves a selection of hot sandwiches freshly made on the premises and also great soup that changes daily. However the best part for me is the cake selection, all home made and all very tempting. There is nothing delicate about what’s on offer, big and robust comfort food, delicious chocolate brownies and huge tasty muffins, make up the pleasing display right in front of you was you enter. I’m not a coffee drinker, however I’m informed, by my coffee drinking friends that, it is very good. This is accompanied by a great selection of leaf tea’s, my favourite being the scouser’s breakfast, that come in a little pot with free refills available.
Oomoo is a great place for a quick coffee or tea and a light bite or equally you can while away the hours with friends nibbling on cakes and enjoying the relax and very friendly atmosphere.
