My latest article for Sevenstreets has just been posted, inspired by a great meal at Fraiche in Oxton, which is outstanding, I review the other so-called fine dining restaurant in our city. Click here to find out what I discovered.

This is a first for Food Fascination, I guest post, ably written by Danielle Fitzsimmons and aided by Laura or Laura’s Little Bakery fame.
The Bombay Sapphire Botanical Experience at The Nobel House was certainly an evening of culinary delight paired with delectable gin based cocktails. Throughout the night we were offered a five course set menu, each course complimented with tasty cocktails, all of which was interjected with a wealth of information regarding gin from a spokesman from the Bombay Sapphire company.
My Scousetro Club project is now up and running with the first event just announced for February, head over to the Scousetro Club site for me details of what is going to be a great event.
I was wandering the bitter streets of Liverpool, the cold wind biting at my skin while the lack of gift ideas gnawed at my mind. I was Christmas shopping, the annual torture endured by all, with fake smiles and impatient thoughts, my degree of imagination equalled that of the stalls in the so-called ‘Christmas Market’. I’d bought nothing, unwilling to indulge the impulse for the meaningless and tacky crap that adorns the shelves this time of year. As I walked up Parr Street my tightly wound scarf helped with the cold wind but did nothing for the growing sense of social pressure. Abandoning the search for cleaver gift ideas I was indulging a far more selfish desire, something nice for lunch. This short walk had brought me to The Brink, not the edge of sanity, although that wasn’t far off, but Parr Street’s newest bar.
This is a quick one from me today, it’s all about The Shipping Forecast, the Ale House, eatery and gig venue. I’m not a regular, at least not in the past, but this is something I wish to rectify. Anyway being encouraged by the knowledgable @MissCay, I’ve been a few times and really liked it, my last visit included a really rather good burger. Burgers are something I really loves, probably my favourite quick food, I wrote quite sometime ago about the best burger in Liverpool, which is something I now have to rectify. This burger is, for me, the best this fine city has to offer.
The bread was suitably soft and easy to bite into, the salad was fresh and crisp and most importantly the beef pattie had some great charred flavour combined with rich beef. This was a really good burger, to be very picky, I like my burgers to be a bit pinker in the middle, but apart from that it was very good. If you want a good burger in Liverpool, The Shipping Forecast is the place for you.
This weekend I had the great pleasure of visiting a Christmas Fayre, a delightful event taking place in the pictures village of Port Sunlight. This was an enjoyable event, and one that I felt should involve far too much stuffing of my face. I’m glad to report that it did.
