The Leaf Tea Shop Burger

I seem to spend a large amount of my time in leaf, I’m often in there drinking tea, drinking beer or eating cake, or sometimes all three. It’s the welcoming atmosphere, nice drinks and good food combined with free wifi that make it such a great place to waste some time. I’ve written about it several times, and in effort not to be a bore, banging on about the same places again and again, I’ll keep this short. Leaf does a pretty decent burger.

To be honest  it’s not the best burger in Liverpool, that honour, according to myself and the knowledgable Miss Cay, lies with the shipping forecast. However, this is pretty good, tender tasty meat, in a soft bun with plenty of crunch from the salad. The accompanying fried potatoes were bit oily for my liking, but the coleslaw was great with a surprising and welcomed chilli heat. My only real complaint would be it lacked any form of charred crust, the smokey deep flavour that is the making of any great burger.

A good burger is another feather in the cap of this excellent bar/restaurant, if you live in Liverpool and haven’t been yet you should really add it to the list.
