Best Burger in Liverpool

Gourmet Burger Kitchen

Yesterday I posted a link to a great burger recipe, having made one for my tea I thought it was really good. This prompted me to realised that and old ‘best burger in Liverpool’ post from last year was missing somewhere, it hadn’t made the move over from my old site.

So here it is, now a fair bit out of date, Red Perilla closed down quite a while ago, but if you wish to read it please feel free.

Best Burger in Liverpool

Siam Garden

The Siam Garden has been around for a long time, and I used to go quite regularly, however I think its been almost ten years since I was last there. My avoidance was never intentional, but with the increasing and improving restaurant scene in Liverpool my attention was drawn elsewhere. The Siam Garden always offered very good and fresh traditional Thai food andIi don’t remember having a bad meal there. Thus as we took our seats at 7:30 on a Saturday evening, surrounded by empty tables, I was hoping the lack of other diners was not representative of the meal to come.

I’m very pleased to say that our meal was very good, the menu hasn’t changes much, or at all, over the last ten years, but that doesn’t detract from the quality. Out stuffed chicken wing where tasty and interesting and out mains of a duck red curry and whole grilled fish were both very good. This was (I believe) the first and only Thai restaurant in Liverpool for some time, It isn’t any more, but its still arguably the best. Chaophraya in town seems to draw flocks of people yet the food isn’t comparable to the Siam Garden. I’ll make sure that it isn’t another ten years until my next visit.

What’s in a Burger?

The burger is another world wide food, available in countries across the globe in many many forms. Obviously Ronald and the King, probably sell more burgers than anyone, but what else is available in Liverpool. Do we have good quality burgers in Liverpool? Do we have good value burgers in Liverpool? Can the big two be beaten on quality (easily done) and price (not so easily done)?

Much like the pizza review before this, Sid ventured around several restaurants eating burgers from different ends of the spectrum. Ultimately Jamie’s Italian comes out top for quality, offering the best burger that Sid had. Rockafeller’s on Bold Street produced a good burger at a very reasonable price.
